The End

I just wanted to write to say that this will be my last blog.

A big thank you to those that have read any of these along this journey. It’s one of those things where the person doing it reaps the blessings.

I have had a wonderful time growing in my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as I searched His Word and sought ways to express, as honestly and truthfully as I knew how, what the Word is saying to us today, in the world in which we live now. His Word is timeless — we just need to take the time to read it, ponder it, meditate upon it.

I’ll close with some words George Mueller wrote years ago. He tried to explain the pull the Word had on his heart. He also tried to convey to his readers the passion and love he had for the reading of God’s Word. I read these words over 40 years ago and they changed my life. And though he is long gone from this earth, his words still encourage me and penetrate to the depths of my soul.

A brief biography: “George Müller (born Johann Georg Ferdinand Müller, 27 September 1805 – 10 March 1898) was a Christian evangelist and the director of the Ashley Down orphanage in Bristol, England. He was one of the founders of the Plymouth Brethren movement.”

The quote:

“And, further, that the Holy Spirit alone can teach us about our state by nature, show us the need of a Saviour, enable us to believe in Christ, explain to us the Scriptures, help us in preaching, etc. It was my beginning to understand this latter point in particular which had a great effect on me; for the Lord enabled me to put it to the test of experience, by laying aside commentaries, and almost every other book, and simply reading the word of God and studying it. The result of this was, that the first evening that I shut myself into my room, to give myself to prayer and meditation over the Scriptures, I learned more in a few hours than I had done during a period of several months previously. But the particular difference was, that I received real strength for my soul in doing so. I now began to try by the test of the Scriptures the things which I had learned and seen, and found that only those principles which stood the test were really of value."

God Bless.
