“Don’t Let Satan Blow It Out”
“But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against his people, TILL THERE WAS NO REMEDY.”
II Chronicles 36:16
Many years ago now (40+), I heard Lester Roloff preach from this passage of Scripture. In many ways Lester was a true old-fashioned prophet of God. No, he didn’t have new revelation or dreams from God. However, he saw things in the Word of God with prophetic eyes. He saw that America and the world were heading to a place of “no remedy.”
He saw the state of the world and the church in ways that weren’t very popular back then, or now. I heard him preach in person and say back then that homosexuality would be the end-time sin that would bring America down. Not to mention abortion.
Lester saw the degradation of the world and church already beginning to take hold. How did he “foresee” this stuff when nobody else was saying anything or even thinking about the approaching “no remedy” condition that we now find ourselves in?
Answer:
He lived in the Word of God. He lived and breathed it. He was a “God-besotted man.” He had a “single-minded preoccupation with God.” (Both of those statements were originally spoken in reference to Jonathan Edwards.) God’s Word was his life’s blood. He new he couldn’t survive apart from the living, sustaining Word of God.
The other holiday (which we no longer celebrate) we gathered together as a family. While visiting, Luke showed us a mock video on YouTube about the Virtual Church. It portrays a guy at home enjoying church through the means of a virtual reality headset.

It’s really good. I thought it was spot on with its parody of the modern church mentality. But, little did I know that we are closer to it than I thought … and worse.
Today, I made the mistake of plugging in “Virtual Church” in Google to find the video to watch again. Wow, am I ever a dinosaur! (“Back in my day we were just happy to have shoes to wear to walk to church ….”) There is a whole world of Virtual Church already up and running. I don’t think we’re up to the virtual reality headset yet, but it’s all conveniently there on the computer screen.
Well …
While on YouTube I came across a video on the 20 Richest Pastors. I should have stopped and not pursued this. But I did. Some of these guys are worth millions.

Now at this point in my YouTube adventure, I’m fuming! But I wasn’t just mad at these guys, as such — though their net worth is in the millions. What I was really mad about was the millions and millions of people around the world that are deceptively connected to and impacted by these (and other) ministries. This is a Satanic inspired spiritual plague of epic scale.
Listen, it’s bad enough that the world is in the horrible spiritual condition that it is. But, when the “church” sinks to this level of moral and spiritual degeneracy there is … “NO REMEDY.” It sort of sheds new light on Matthew 6:23 - “If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” Where’s the light? If the “church” is dark how great is the darkness in the world?
I don’t believe we’ll ever see any great moving of God like in generations gone by. I don’t believe we can sing “God Bless America” and think God still looks down and smiles upon our country like He once did. Can we expect God to bless a country that has fallen into such a state of ungodliness? It would be like asking, and expecting, God to bless Sodom and Gomorrah. Not gonna happen.
In the big picture, I don’t see any “remedy” on the horizon. HOWEVER … I’m going to let This Little Light Of Mine shine and not let Satan snuff it out. If the Light is ever going to have any impact in the Darkness, we’re going to have to be engaged.
Satan can have his way in the world and in the church, but I’m going to fight him from having his way with me. Why? Because each and every little light that shines here-and-there combines to become a much bigger light that impacts and changes that which surrounds us.
Let’s all renew our purpose to let our Little Lights shine in the darkness that is engulfing the world and the church world. It may not bring about a remedy but it will bring hope to those darkened hearts that are searching for “the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” (John 1:9)
“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.” John 12:46
“Don’t let Satan blow it out.”
This Little Light Of Mine
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine,
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine.
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I'm gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I'm gonna let it shine
Hide it under a bushel? No!
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine.
Don't let Satan blow it out,
I'm gonna let it shine
Don't let Satan blow it out,
I'm gonna let it shine
Don't let Satan blow it out,
I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine,
Let it shine,
Let it shine.
