Before I give you my thoughts, let me quote what a well known commentary said on our verse. The Law was “added to restrain transgressions among men, and ESPECIALLY (my emphasis) among the fleshly race of Abraham.”
Theologians and scholars have, over time, turned Paul’s writings 180 degrees from what he meant concerning our observance of the Law post-Yeshua. It has, in effect, become inverted.
We’re told Paul spread his brand of fear by “breathing out murderous THREATS against the Lord’s disciples.” Fear was his tool to silence the disciples.
