The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

I read Psalm 23 a few days ago. I’m so familiar with it that I catch myself reading it without giving it much thought. I have to force myself to slow down and actually try to peer into what it is saying.

I have, as I’m sure some of you have, memorized it in the past. It is the one psalm that almost everybody has some knowledge. It seems like every funeral in every TV program quotes a least part of this psalm. I doubt David ever realized it would become such a commercialized and publicized item. Inheritance

The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. Ps. 16:5

I’m continuing my reading in the Psalms. My progress has been enjoyably slow this time. There is so much to contemplate and meditate upon. It’s like every verse has so much to say that it’s hard to pass over what’s being said without further consideration. It’s amazing how the Bible is always so fresh. Continue reading “Inheritance”

The Heathen Are Enraged

Acts 4:24-26 — And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:  Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

There are just two people groups in the Bible: saved and unsaved; righteous and unrighteous; good and evil; Heaven bound and Hell bound. It really is just that basic. Continue reading “The Heathen Are Enraged”
