Knowledge Alone?

I Corinthians 2:14 — But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Does knowledge alone produce the fruit of the Spirit and further conformity to the image of Yeshua?

I can look up every word in this verse and get the meanings of the words in Greek. OK, now what? Yes, I’ve gained more knowledge and understanding, but what do I do with that new information? How does what I’ve just learned work in me to bring about transformation into the image of Yeshua? In other words: If I keep on learning and getting more knowledge, does that somehow produce a more spiritual outcome? Continue reading “Knowledge Alone?”

The Religion of Rome — “No Peace With Rome”

The Religion of Rome — “No Peace With Rome”
— See original article online:
C. H. Spurgeon
From the January 1873 Sword and Trowel

I was so refreshed to find and read this article by Spurgeon. Unfortunately, many today in our churches and Messianic assemblies know next to nothing about this great man of God. He has fallen by the wayside along with other great men of God: Moody, Hudson Taylor, John Patton, Jonathan Edwards, George Muller. We’re losing a whole generation to a weakened form of the heritage that is ours. I for one, refuse to let their memories die.

One has to ask themselves: Why aren’t these men mentioned any longer? How have we come so far from what they believed and stood for? Take for example Moody. He was greatly disturbed because he saw folks from his church on the Sabbath (as he called it, though it was Sunday) riding on their horses and in their buggies. What would he think today?

Perhaps, these guy’s, and what they lived and stood for, are too convicting to this generation? Continue reading “The Religion of Rome — “No Peace With Rome””

“I Love Yehovah, Because …” Psalm 116:1

When I read this a few days back, it caused me to pause and think about what the Psalmist was saying and why.

The Psalmist seemed to be bombarded from many sides. He was overwhelmed with trouble. He was afflicted and brought low, even sensing the sorrows of death encircling him. It appears that in the midst of all he was going through that no one seemed to understand. Nearly crushed by it all he tells us: ”I said in my haste, All men are liars.” He’s in a dark spot. Continue reading ““I Love Yehovah, Because …” Psalm 116:1”

Citizen of America or Heaven?

Philippians 3:20 — For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Citizen of America or Heaven?

I think most who come into the Hebraic perspective of viewing the Scriptures feel like they’ve been lied to. I did. We wondered how those we looked to for instruction and teaching had failed to inform us of the things we were beginning to see for ourselves. Was it deliberate? Was it out of ignorance? Was it a combination of both? We have been given “new” information and understanding. We’ve been changed. And because of this, we can never go back to the simpler, warm fuzzy days of our Christian lives. It’s all so apparent to us now; but, it wasn’t always that way. Popery, Again?

{Please, go to YouTube and watch these films by Adullam Films — A Lamp In The Dark: The Untold History of the Bible;  Tares Among The Wheat;  Bridge To Babylon: Rome, Ecumenism and the Bible}

I went to Bible college a year and a half after I got saved. I was off to study the Word of God! All Bible major students had to take Greek. I’d learn to read the Word of God in the original language. What could be better? Continue reading “Popery, Again?”

The Ongoing Counter Reformation

Ephesians 2:2 – Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.

The Counter Reformation is the ongoing battle against the manuscript texts underlying the King James Bible. Continue reading “The Ongoing Counter Reformation”

The King James Bible

Why is virtually any new Bible version looked upon as a worthy scholarly work and yet the King James Bible is relegated to the roll of antiquated inferiority?

I’ve been around long enough to see many of the new translations roll off the production lines. My personal experience started with the Revised Standard Version at age 12. I only read a few verses in Matthew and put it down. I never touched a Bible again until I was saved at age 19 in 1973 (New Scofield Bible). Continue reading “The King James Bible”
