God's Green New Deal

God’s Green New Deal

“The Green New Deal (GND) is a set of proposed economic stimulus programs in the United States that aims to address climate change and economic inequality. The name references the New Deal, a set of social and economic reforms and public works projects undertaken by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in response to the Great Depression. The Green New Deal combines Roosevelt's economic approach with modern ideas such as renewable energy and resource efficiency. In the 116th Congress it is a pair of resolutions, H. Res. 109/ S. Res. 59, sponsored by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA).” Wikipedia

“According to the Washington Post (February 11, 2019), the resolution calls for a “10-year national mobilization” whose primary goals would be:

"Guaranteeing a job with a family-sustaining wage, adequate family and medical leave, paid vacations, and retirement security to all people of the United States."

"Providing all people of the United States with — (i) high-quality health care; (ii) affordable, safe, and adequate housing; (iii) economic security; and (iv) access to clean water, clean air, healthy and affordable food, and nature."

"Providing resources, training, and high-quality education, including higher education, to all people of the United States."

"Meeting 100 percent of the power demand in the United States through clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources."

"Repairing and upgrading the infrastructure in the United States, including . . . by eliminating pollution and greenhouse gas emissions as much as technologically feasible."

"Building or upgrading to energy-efficient, distributed, and ‘smart’ power grids, and working to ensure affordable access to electricity."

"Upgrading all existing buildings in the United States and building new buildings to achieve maximal energy efficiency, water efficiency, safety, affordability, comfort, and durability, including through electrification."

"Overhauling transportation systems in the United States to eliminate pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector as much as is technologically feasible, including through investment in — (i) zero-emission vehicle infrastructure and manufacturing; (ii) clean, affordable, and accessible public transportation; and (iii) high-speed rail."

"Spurring massive growth in clean manufacturing in the United States and removing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing and industry as much as is technologically feasible."

"Working collaboratively with farmers and ranchers in the United States to eliminate pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the agricultural sector as much as is technologically feasible." ————

Here’s God’s Green New Deal in two Bible verses:

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” Revelation 20:1

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 20:8

It amazes me that so much focus is placed upon the pollution of the environment while very little focus is placed upon the spiritual pollution of man before God. The book of Revelation focuses upon both pollutions.

God lets us know, in no uncertain terms, that He is in control of the destiny of both. And why wouldn’t He be control? He’s the creator of both and is immensely concerned about the well-being of both. God is THE greatest Green Advocate.

It seems very obvious to me that God’s creation is going to be around until the time God deems it appropriate to do something about it. It’s not going to fall apart. It’s not going to get so bad that we’ll have to fear for our lives — in some distant unknown future.

I think the real underlying battle going on is Darkness against Light, Hell against Heaven, Man against God. We are turning into a nation, globe, that has “changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever.” Romans 1:25

I mean, how stupid can anyone be to think that God didn’t have enough foresight to make sure all of His creation was sustainable? I, personally, don’t believe mankind has it within his power/ability to topple God’s creation. That’s just plain arrogance. And, it’s a telling mindset displaying the absence of God from intelligent thinking.

However …

God WILL bring it all to a crashing, burning end because of man.

But not because of man’s failure to sustain the physical world in which he lives. Rather, it will be on account of man’s failure to sustain his spiritual condition and worship of God.

Notice please Romans 8 —

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? ——

We’ve been told that creation is struggling under an unsustainable load. But, it’s clear from Romans that it “groans” because man’s spiritual condition is at fault. That which is depleting God’s creation is man’s spiritual drain upon EVERYTHING.

That’s what we don’t take into account.

God created His creation and mankind to function in harmony. What throws everything out of whack is the deplorable spiritual degradation of mankind.

If people were really concerned about climate change they’d look at it from a Biblical basis. Creation is groaning because we, in our spiritual death walk, are causing it to groan. The only Green Agenda hope that is needed is what Romans 8:24 prescribes: the salvation of man, the new- birth.

Let me close with this …

I “get it” that the unsaved world is all up in arms about this issue. What I don’t get is the degree to which God’s people have been sucked into this nonsense. I know the world doesn’t read the Bible, so they at least have a leg to stand on for their ignorance. But, not Christians.

… Unless they’re not reading the Bible either?

Christians, take off your Green lenses, strip away all the propaganda you’ve ignorantly swallowed, get your hands out of your treasured recycling bin, and actually do something to save the planet …

Pick up and read a Bible that was —

MADE FROM TREES.

Colossians 3:16-17 — 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and BY HIM ALL THINGS CONSIST.
