Everybody Judges

Everybody Judges

Subtitle: There Is A Biblical Moral Reality

“Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.” Romans 2:1

Do you judge?

Did you instinctively respond: “Not me; I don’t judge.”

Yea, I think that about me too.

I want you to notice something …

The title of this blog is “judgmental.” By me titling the blog as I have, I’ve made a “judgment.”

We all need to realize that it’s impossible to live as a human being and not make judgements. That’s not the issue though, is it?

Here’s the issue.

When a person expresses an opinion that is not agreed with by someone else, it’s at that point where the accusation of judging is leveled. However, if a judgement was stated in which the other person agreed, then it wouldn’t be consider judging.

In my blog title I’ve made a blanket statement regarding something I believe to be true. Granted, that’s not how we normally think about the concept of judging. However, my title and belief in my title is a form of passing judgment — at least with those that don’t agree.

I don’t know about you but, it seems like when it comes to upholding the direct truths of the Scriptures people (saved and unsaved) tend to take that as being judgmental — aka, not loving.

When did it become a matter of “judging” for someone to proclaim with conviction that there is A Biblical Moral Reality? When did that become a disputed fact worthy of debate?

This happens, most often, because a straight forward, matter-of-fact, non-PC, Biblically based statement is considered … inconsiderate and unloving. The reality, however, is that the person (people) didn’t like what they just heard.

Please take this in the good spirit I’m going to say this but …

Too bad!

We need to start getting a little (no, actually more than a little) reactionary about being considered too judgmental and not loving enough when proclaiming that there is A Biblical Moral Reality.

What finally has occurred to me, however, is an interesting concept.

Which is this …

If, when presenting what the Bible says (though not PC in today’s current atmosphere), we’re told we’re not expressing love … well … haven’t we just been judged?

I trow so.

What I don’t get is why that kind of judging isn’t considered being judgmental and unloving. Why don’t we have as much right to express our beliefs as the next guy? Why is it allowed to be turned around against us and not considered as being judgmental on their end?

We can’t let that happen any longer.

We, who try to present the unpopular truths of God’s Word, need to stop letting ourselves be backed into the corner of being judgmental. That charge is bogus manipulation meant to purposefully disarm any chance for rebuttal.

So … instead of being constantly taken off guard by these false acquisitions hurled at us …

Let’s go on the offensive.

Let’s take back the Truth.

Let’s OVERTHROW a few money charger tables every now-and-then.

Why do you think people keep calling us unloving when we endeavor to present the plain truths of the Bible?

BECAUSE WE LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT by our lack of backbone and pathetic mealy-mouthed responses.

— Breathe deeply Warren —

Folks listen, this is more that just a personal rant.

Because of us, the truth of God’s Word suffers when we don’t speak up and confront. In reality, judgment isn’t being passed upon us but upon the God who gave us His Word.

Here’s what got me going on all this.

I’m still reading in Romans. Actually, I went back to the beginning and started again.

If there’s any chapter in God’s Word that would, in today’s society, be considered insensitive and unloving it’s Romans chapter 1 verses 18-32. And I’m not just talking about the backlash from the unsaved but from the saved as well.

I’m going to give you the text that Paul wrote under inspiration from God. If you disagree with any of it, then you need to take it up with Paul and God … but …

Don’t you dare judge me — thank you very much :-)

Let me ask you this before you read the verses and … PLEASE READ THEM.

Do these verses present an unloving God or One who loves His creation so much that He risks telling the hard truth in hopes of saving our souls? You say: Of course a loving God.

OK then. But what if you didn’t know God had said all this and I said all these same things — in all honesty now — would you consider me loving too?

Think about it.

And remember, there is A Biblical Moral Reality we are to stand upon. You’re about to read it.

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
